Turn a Discord export into a readable PDF

Discord's own data request hands you JSON where every person and every channel is a long number. Upload it and get a transcript with names, dates and messages in order.

How it works.

DiscordChatExporter is the tool everyone ends up being told to use, and it is a command line program with twelve thousand stars on GitHub. That number is the point: those are the people who managed. This is for everyone else.

Step 1

Get the JSON

If you have DiscordChatExporter, export as JSON. If not, ask Discord for your data in Settings, Privacy and Safety, Request all of my Data. It arrives by email as a zip.

Step 2

Upload it

Drop the JSON file or the whole zip here. Nothing is unpacked on your side.

Step 3

Read it, then pay if you want it

You see the messages parsed first. The PDF has the channel name, the date range, and the conversation with each person in their own colour.

Four ways to print it.

Every sample below is a real page from the same renderer that makes your file, not a drawing of one. Pick the style above before you upload, or change it and preview again.

A page of a transcript in the Chat bubbles style
Chat bubblesLooks like the conversation did. Best for keeping, or for showing someone.
A page of a transcript in the Clean document style
Clean documentPlain and readable, made for paper. The safe choice if you are not sure.
A page of a transcript in the Formal / legal style
Formal / legalNumbered entries and full timestamps, for a hearing or a claim. No colour, so it photocopies.
A page of a transcript in the Book style
BookSet like a printed book, for binding or keeping. Warm paper, wide margins.

Trust, with receipts.

No invented review scores, no badges, no “trusted by thousands”. Here is what is actually true, and you can check every line of it.

Questions, answered.

Discord's export has no names in it, only numbers. Can you fix that?
Not honestly. The package Discord sends you genuinely does not contain display names anywhere, only account IDs, so anything claiming to put names in is guessing. Messages are labelled by account instead and the page tells you that is what happened. A DiscordChatExporter file does have names and those come through properly.
What about bot messages and link previews?
The text inside embeds is kept. A channel full of bot posts exports as blank rows in most tools because the words live in the embed, not in the message body.
Are reactions included?
Yes, listed under the message they belong to with the count.
Can you do a whole server?
One channel at a time through the page. If you need a whole server, email me and I will run it in a batch.
What happens to my file?
It is deleted within 7 days, along with the finished PDF. It is used to make your file and nothing else. Nobody reads it.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no signup, no subscription and no password. You upload, you see the result, you pay once if you want it.
