CSV to OFX, without installing a converter
Downloaded a CSV from your bank but your accounting software wants OFX? Upload the CSV, check the preview, and download an OFX with a stable ID on every transaction.
Your preview
This is your real file, parsed. Pay only if the result is right.
How it works.
A statement converter fails quietly, not loudly. It never crashes on a wrong date, it just writes the wrong one. Two things get decided from evidence in your file rather than assumed: which way round the dates go, and which character is the decimal point. The preview states both, with the row that settled it, before you spend anything.
Upload your export
A CSV from your online banking, a QIF from Quicken or similar, or an OFX file. One file at a time.
Check the two assumptions
The preview says how the dates were read and how the decimal point was read, and shows the row that settled each one. If the dates look wrong, set the date order below and preview again before you pay.
Download the OFX file
Every transaction, not just the preview's first 20, with a stable transaction ID on each one so importing it twice by accident does not double your ledger.
Where OFX works, and where it does not
Plain OFX imports into QuickBooks Online, GnuCash and most software not made by Intuit. Quicken desktop imports QFX, and QuickBooks Desktop wants QBO, which are Intuit formats tied to a registered bank ID, so this tool does not fake them. If you use Quicken or QuickBooks Desktop, check its import options first.
Why the preview matters
A converter that reads a date the wrong way round does not crash, it quietly writes the wrong date into your books. The preview states how dates and the decimal separator were read, with the row that settled each, and you can change either before you pay. Every transaction gets a stable ID so importing the same file twice does not double it.
