Help

Email hello@onetimetool.com. It goes straight to the person who builds the tools. There is no ticket system, no chatbot and no queue, and you will usually hear back within a few hours.

Before you email, the five things that go wrong most

The upload fails or stalls

Almost always the file size. Every tool shows its limit next to the upload box. For chat exports, re-export choosing Without Media; that usually turns a two-gigabyte export into a few megabytes. If you genuinely need the media and the file is enormous, email us and we will run it by hand.

The preview looks wrong

This is exactly what the preview is for. Tell us what phone, what language and what looks wrong, and attach the file if you are comfortable doing so. Export formats vary between iPhone and Android, between app versions and between languages, and a parser that is wrong for your file is a bug we want to fix. You have not paid anything at this point.

A converted statement has the wrong dates, or the amounts are out by a thousand

Those are the same problem: your file wrote something in a way there is more than one way to read. 03/04/2024 is the third of April or the fourth of March, and 1.234 is a thousand or it is one and a bit. Neither can be settled from one row, so both are decided from evidence across the whole file, and the preview says which way it went and which row settled it, before you pay. If it says it guessed, it guessed, and you can set the date order yourself and preview again. If it read the dates confidently and still got them wrong, that is a bug in our reader rather than a setting, so send us the file and we will fix it.

The reason both are stated on screen rather than handled silently is that a converter that gets this wrong does not crash. It hands you a file that looks completely normal and is wrong, and you find out when your accounting software has a year of transactions on the wrong days.

The PDF prints badly

Check you are printing at 100% and not “fit to page”, which shrinks everything and throws the margins out. For anything folded, print one test copy before you print eighty.

I paid and did not get the file

Check spam first, then email us from the address you paid with and we will resend it. If it cannot be produced, we will refund you without being asked twice.

Asking a question before you upload

If you are about to upload something sensitive (legal, medical, a deceased relative's messages) and you want to know exactly what happens to it first, ask. We would much rather answer a question than have somebody guess. The full detail is on Security and your data.

Something is missing

If there is a job you keep having to do by hand and there is no tool here for it, tell us what it is. Requests like that are how new tools get chosen.
